About Bass Freaks

Bass Freaks – High-End & Exclusive Bass Guitars

Bass Freaks is a boutique bass shop based in Brussels, Belgium, run by two passionate bass players and one full-time cat since 2016. So far, we've shipped 3,500+ instruments to players in 50+ countries, and we're not slowing down.

If you're looking for a serious bass (boutique, custom, or just genuinely hard to find),  you're in the right place.

Bass Freaks Showroom

Located in Louvain-la-Neuve (25km south of Brussels), open by appointment only, Monday to Saturday, 11am–7pm. Sundays are possible for emergencies and musicians on tour, but are subject to availability.

Appointments aren't bureaucracy : they're how we make sure you get our full attention when you walk in. No distractions, no rushing. Just you, the basses, and enough time to make the right call.

We work across several stocking locations, so giving us a heads-up about what you're looking for (even vaguely) means we'll have the right instruments ready when you arrive. We like to make suggestions and helping you get the right instrument is a dynamic process where we are pretty active. Don't worry, it doesn't mean pushing the most expensive instrument out there, only what seems to be the better fit.

What We Stock

Our selection focuses on high-end production models, boutique builders, and instruments that are genuinely hard to find elsewhere. Every brand we carry is one we believe in, not just one that fills a slot on Bass Freaks website.

You'll find names like Dingwall, Maruszczyk, Sadowsky, Moon, Mayones, Xotic, and Alpher among others. If you're after something specific that isn't listed, ask anyway. We have access to more than what's on the site at any given time.

Custom Orders

Already know what you want? We can help you build it. From the wood to the hardware to the last detail on the spec sheet, we'll walk you through the process so the result actually matches what you had in your head.

Bass Freaks Pictures

Every instrument is photographed in-house, with no editing or color grading. What you see is as close to real life as we can get, and the instrument pictured is the one you'll receive, unless stated otherwise. We take that seriously, because buying an instrument you haven't held is an act of faith.

We're happy to share additional images on request, though coordinating across multiple stocking locations takes a little more time than it might look. If you have a specific concern (a particular area of the finish, the back of the neck, whether the cat is really that beautiful...) just tell us exactly what you need.

Serial numbers are not shared as a matter of store policy. We've learned the hard way that some people use them for purposes that have nothing to do with buying an instrument, and we'd rather protect our customers and our inventory than make life easier for the wrong crowd.

Shipping Worldwide

Every order ships globally, packed with the kind of care you'd expect when the people doing the packing are also bass players. Import duties are the buyer's responsibility, but getting your instrument to you safely is ours. We are used to the importing process and Bass Freaks will help you navigate the bureaucratic hell.
