Calling the Alpha Omega a DI box undersells it badly. It's a pedal-sized preamp, a proper DI, and a savage-sounding distortion unit; usually all at once.

The control set is where it earns its keep. Level, Drive and a full 3-band EQ are the easy part. Then it gets interesting: the Mod knob sweeps between punchy-and-tight and all-out raw, the Growl and Bite switches place the saturation teeth exactly where you want them on the low and high end, and the Blend control lets you fold your dry signal back in to taste.

The I/O is built for real rigs. Run 1/4" to your amp, send the XLR direct out to the desk as a DI, and use the parallel output to feed an unaffected tone somewhere else while the wet sound goes to the PA. Vintage purist, straight-to-console minimalist, or someone with a pedalboard that embarrasses your guitarist : it covers all three.
