The Microtubes X takes the classic Darkglass grind and hands you the scalpel. Instead of smearing distortion across your whole signal, it splits your bass into two bands with sweepable high-pass and low-pass filters, so you decide exactly where the dirt lives and where the low end stays clean and planted.

That is the whole trick to distorted bass that still holds the bottom: let the mids and highs snarl while the fundamentals stay firm. Five controls, one footswitch, no menus. Set it and stomp.
