The D-Roc Custom is Dingwall's take on the classic offset shape, balanced so the neck stays where you put it. This five-string runs a khaya body on a 5-piece maple neck with a wenge board, over a 37" to 34" Novax fanned-fret scale for a tight low B. Three passive FDV Alnico pickups go through a 4-position Quad-Tone selector, master volume and master tone. No preamp, no battery. Built in Canada.

About the name. The four Dingwalls in this batch take their finish names from "Les Marches de Redana", the tabletop RPG campaign I've been involved in for the last four years, now coming to a close. Lady Aloryck is a venerable winter dragon who lives hidden in human form, in her ice fortress up in the mountains. Since the Dragonriders' War shook the city of Glenwyrmn a century ago, she believed she was the last of her kind. It seems she was wrong. Frost blue melting into natural wood seemed about right for a dragon hiding in plain sight.
