The D-Roc Custom is Dingwall's take on the classic offset shape, balanced so the neck stays where you put it. This five-string runs a khaya body on a 5-piece maple neck with a wenge board, over a 37" to 34" Novax fanned-fret scale for a tight low B. Three passive FDV Alnico pickups go through a 4-position Quad-Tone selector, master volume and master tone. No preamp, no battery. Built in Canada.

About the name. The four Dingwalls in this batch take their finish names from "Les Marches de Redana", the tabletop RPG campaign I've been involved in for the last four years, now coming to a close. The Zithaï Empire is the elven empire next door, set on taking back the lands it lost in Redana a few centuries ago, and led by an Emperor with no legitimate claim to the throne. Blue to red seemed about right for an empire that does not take no for an answer.
