Deposits are a commitment and are non refundable. Buyer out of EU responsible for all import cost upon reception of the instrument.

This page is not a bass. It is the deposit that starts one.

Bass Freaks is now an official Fodera dealer in Europe. Fodera has been building basses by hand in Brooklyn since 1983, around 350 instruments a year. A Custom Shop build is specified from scratch with you : model, woods, electronics, scale, string count, finish. Nothing about it comes off a shelf, which is why it starts with a deposit and not an add to cart on a finished instrument.

How it works

1. You pay the deposit here. That secures your build slot in the Fodera queue. Current build time is 24 months.
2. We contact you within two business days to spec the instrument with you, model by model, wood by wood.
3. Fodera issues the final quote. Your deposit is deducted from it in full.
4. The balance is due once the instrument leaves Brooklyn.

Before you pay

• Deposits are a commitment and are non refundable. A Custom Shop slot is reserved in your name and a build is scheduled around it. Do not pay this deposit unless you intend to go through with the order.
• The deposit is deducted in full from the final invoice.
• Final price depends on the specification and is confirmed in writing before the build starts.
• Custom Shop lead times are long. Fodera's current estimate is 24 months.
• This is a pre-order deposit. Discount codes and promotions do not apply to it.
• Buyer out of EU responsible for all import cost.
